Rachel is a member of the Athabascan First Nations Densuline born and raised in the Northwest Territories. Having worked most of her career for two Chief Public Health Officers with the Department of Health and Social Services, Government of Northwest Territories and in Indigenous Health Community Development and Wellness, she has recently moved south and began a new career where she can expand her work to include research for Indigenous Communities' health.  Growing up in the community of Pine Point, NWT, Rachel is very passionate about networking with small communities where she feels the most comfortable.

 

Living now in the beautiful oasis of the Okanagan valley, with her husband David, Rachel is raising her youngest son with two older two boys attending university. Rachel and David spend a lot of their time outdoors walking their two fur babies, hiking, biking, and enjoying tastings at the variety of wineries in the area.  At home, you can find them keeping up with the beauty in the Shannon Lake valley and tending their fruit trees and flower gardens.
