Karishma D'Sa was born and raised in India where she earned her Bachelors Degree in Dental Surgery. She worked shortly as a dentist before moving to the United States to get her Masters in Public Health with a specialization in Epidemiology. She worked on several COVID-19 projects during her Masters and post graduation. She recently worked at the famous Tata Cancer Research Center and Hospital in India as a Junior Medical Researcher on their COVID-19 and cancer project which was published in the Nature Cancer journal. She is well versed with qualitative and quantitative research methods including statistical methods to analyse data. Karishma worked with several underprivileged and Indigenous communities in India, which inspired her to work harder toward improving health accessibility, availability, and affordability.

 

Karishma moved to Canada two years ago and is still getting used to the Canadian winters, coming from a tropical country like India. Outside of work, Karishma thoroughly enjoys relaxing on a beautiful beach, reading, and exploring new cuisines.
